The newest Wordle word is available to solve and today’s word could throw some players off their game. Here are the daily hints & answer to Wordle.
October 14th brings puzzle fans a brand new Wordle word to guess and this one has a little trick up its sleeve. There are a number of ways that Wordle can throw players off their game, repeated letters, common suffixes or prefixes, regional spellings, and all these things can turn a simple word into something much more challenging. That’s certainly part of the game’s charm, solving its simple puzzle every day can help players learn new vocabulary while challenging themselves with complex strategies and ways of winning.
For those that prefer a more difficult puzzle, there is a Wordle Hard Mode built into the game. To activate it, players simply need to open the options menu before starting any day’s puzzle. Hard Mode locks in letters and stops players from guessing words that don’t fit with the previously given clues. This requires a bit more critical thinking from the player as just throwing a word out to get new letters is no longer a valid strategy.

Today’s Wordle Answer (October 14th #482)
Today’s Wordle answer is FLOOR.
A very common word with one double-lettered trick up its sleeve. For our starting Wordle word we used IRATE which only provided one incorrectly placed letter, ‘R’. Using that, we attempted a different position for the ‘R’ and tried to cover the other vowels, so our second guess was ROUGH. This gave us an incorrectly placed ‘O’ and another wrong spot for the ‘R’.
For our third guess, we needed to check more possible ‘R’ positions so we tried SCORN, this placed the ‘O’ in one of the two correct positions and left only one possible spot for ‘R’. Knowing it had to go at the end court fourth and final guess was FLOOR which provided a Wordle win-in-four, and the satisfaction of getting the double-letter.
