A major leak has revealed Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s Pokémon Home Transfers. Here’s what the leaked information means for Gen 9.
A Pokémon Scarlet and Violet leak has revealed which Pokémon can be transferred from Pokémon Home into the Generation 9 games, and it could have big implications for the franchise. In July, alleged screenshots of a new Girafarig form from the Gen 9 games were posted on social media. While many were skeptical of their authenticity, players were stunned when an October update trailer revealed that the new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Farigiraf evolution had been leaked four months ago. Following months worth of additional leaked information about the Paldea Region RPGs, Gen 9 insiders have now revealed the Pokémon Home transfer list for Scarlet and Violet.
The Scarlet and Violet Pokédex was leaked online on October 8 by infamous Pokémon leaker Riddler Khu who posted an image of Gen 9’s final roster on social media. After Twitter user palkiaorigin created a detailed mockup of the Gen 9 Pokédex based on the information, the Riddler account confirmed that it was 99% accurate. However, the leak also revealed that the Gen 9 RPGs will launch with over 40 Pokémon evolution lines that can be transferred from the Pokémon Home cloud service app.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Pokémon Home Transfers Leak Early
According to the October leak, Scarlet and Violet will have 103 new Pokémon and 297 returning Pokémon, which brings the game’s base Pokédex to 400 total. The game will feature around 16 Scarlet and Violet exclusive Pokémon in each version of the game. However, the leak also revealed that the Gen 9 RPGs will launch with over 40 Pokémon evolution lines that can be transferred from the Pokémon Home cloud service app. Players will be able to import Legendaries such as Mew and Zapdos into their Paldea teams. Surprisingly, Scarlet and Violet will not feature most previous Pokémon Starter lines except Charizard from the classic Kanto Pokémon Red and Blue generation. The leaked Scarlet and Violet Pokémon HOME list includes:
- Hisuian Samurott
- Hisuian Qwilfish
Scarlet & Violet Might Leave Pokémon Stranded In Pokémon Home
Fans reacted to the leaked Pokémon Home transfer list and quickly realized that several Pokémon were being left out again after not appearing in the Gen 8 Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra DLC in 2021. Pokémon outlet Centro LEAKS reflected on the list’s impact on the series and pointed out that over eleven evolution lines could end up being stuck in Pokémon Home. If the leak holds true Scarlet and Violet‘s release, Pokémon such as Serperior and Zebstrika might not ever be available in a Nintendo Switch game. Interestingly most of the Pokémon seem to be from the Unova Pokémon Black and White series.
With every major Pokémon Scarlet and Violet leak being confirmed legitimate, players now have a pretty clear idea of what to expect from Pokémon Home‘s integration into the Paldea Region games. There are still many Gen 9 Pokémon that have not been revealed yet though, so the Pokédex leak centers on returning and Home transfer Pokémon only. According to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Leaks, Game Freak is also planning on bringing back the DLC expansion format that debuted in Gen 8’s Sword and Shield. So it’s possible that some of the missing Pokemon Home transfers will get another shot at finally being made available on the Nintendo Switch console.
