She-Hulk: 10 Best MCU & Marvel Comics Easter Eggs & Hidden Details Fans Missed

Whether for the exciting guest or the shocking fourth-wall break to beat them all, the season finale of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law gave Jennifer Walters’ a worthy conclusion to her inaugural endeavor in the MCU. The legal comedy laid the groundwork for many future projects from a sequel to The Incredible Hulk to Deadpool 3, but what many fans really want is a second season. There’s been no official word that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will get the Loki treatment, but if there ever was a show perfectly attuned to a multi-season format, it’s this.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law broke the mold with nine episodes, as opposed to the usual six, which allowed for a classic sitcom feel with episodic storylines and hilarious guest stars like Wong and Madisynn. However, in keeping with tradition, each episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is bursting with fun Easter eggs and interesting hidden details just waiting to be found out by an astute eye. These, in particular, connect the show with other parts of the franchise both past and future, from Moon Knight to the X-Men and everything in between.

Wolverine

Nothing grabbed the audience’s attention more than this – “Man fighting with metal claws in bar brawl.” It’s just a related article when Jen was looking at potential new jobs, but fans easily surmised that it really could only be about one person, Wolverine.

Only a few weeks later Ryan Reynolds revealed that Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. That official announcement rightfully spawned some incredibly creative and funny fan theories on Reddit, but his inclusion in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is interesting. Perhaps this could mean that she will appear in Deadpool 3 and the two fourth-wall-breaking characters will meet.

Sweet Kicks

Jen’s friends and co-workers, Nikki, Pug, and Mallory, were a fantastic inclusion to the elite circle of hilarious MCU supporting characters. Played by Josh Segarra, Pug is a superhero nerd with a big collection of designer sneakers modeled on various heroes. Before that was revealed there was a fun ad for such a shoe on the same page as the Wolverine tease. It’s called the Iron Man Threes, clearly referencing Iron Man 3.

He is later shown to own some in one of the series’ credits art, showing off his collection to Nikki. This image is ripe with references to other heroes, some of which aren’t even in the MCU yet like Deadpool, Cyclops, and the Thing.

Gideon Wilson

Despite being about a large green superhero who can somehow break the rules of reality, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law feels incredibly real. That’s in no small part due to the use of social media and news throughout the series, showcasing the disregard and dehumanization many women are forced to deal with on these platforms. While most of these people were just nameless and unremarkable, there’s one who stood out – Gideon Wilson.

He was the prosecutor who got Emil Blonsky AKA Abomination locked away, so he’s unhappy that She-Hulk is representing him now. However, in the comics, Gideon Wilson is Sam Wilson’s brother who actually seeks revenge on Hulk for not saving his son’s life.

Shadow Dimension

It really wouldn’t be a Phase Four project without an appearance from Sorcerer Supreme Wong. Fans got a double dose in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law with his appearance in episode 3 possibly linking the show to Thor: Love and Thunder. He says he could send Abomination to the Mirror Dimension or the Shadow Dimension, which might just be the same thing as the Shadow Realm in Thor: Love and Thunder.

This is a place devoid of color, a land of eternal darkness, and surely not someplace Blonsky would like to have been sent. Dimensions, realms, and various universes are important aspects of the Multiverse Saga, so hopefully the Shadow Dimension can be explored even more sometime soon.

Khonshu’s Necklace?

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law also had some interesting connections to Moon Knight. In episode 4, Donny Blaze, the inept stage magician, was costumed with an amulet eerily similar to Khonshu’s skull. Interestingly, the character was already theorized to be the new Ghost Rider – since his name is seemingly an amalgam of Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch.

The whole episode gives hope to more supernatural characters showing up, like Vampire by Night and Jennifer Kale, so perhaps Donny Blaze will interact with them. Additionally, in the finale, when packing up her belongings, Jen is shown to own a mug with “See you later litigators,” referencing Stephen Grant’s catchphrase.

Baroness Blood

Among the colorful clientele in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Stephen Pasquesi’s Mr. Immortal is a special case. His plot to escape paying what he owed to his many enraged and mistreated partners was a funny B-plot, and it also unexpectedly introduced a vampire to the MCU. He accrued a fortune over his long life, especially from a long-past ex-wife named Baroness Cromwell. This is a clear reference to Lily Cromwell AKA Baroness Blood, a prominent vampire villain in the comics.

This is very interesting to consider as she’s a vampire who could work well in live-action, so maybe they’re already teasing her introduction. She is an ally to Dracula and could make for a fascinating addition to Blade.

A Punisher Reference

Fans finally got what they’d been waiting for in episode 8 when Charlie Cox returned as Daredevil. In the thick of the battle against Leapfrog’s thugs, they also discuss legal strategy to help Leapfrog’s case, and he suggests “a traumatic expression due to undiagnosed PTSD.” This might just be legal jargon to some, but to those deeply familiar with Daredevil and The Punisher, it references an important event from those shows.

In Daredevil, Matt ends up representing Punisher and uses that same defense to get him off. He’s got the experience to know that could work in this situation. Importantly, this could put a pin in the conversations that Daredevil and the Netflix series exist outside the MCU’s main continuity and that this Matt Murdock is a different person.

Mandrill

In the finale, viewers catch up on Jen and Nikki’s investigation to take down the Intelligencia. They’ve managed to discern the online identities of various members who post frequently, including one who uses a Mandrill as his avatar. In the comics, Mandrill is a mutant supervillain who has crossed paths with She-Hulk a few times.

The Mandrill is a massive misogynist and sexist, using his mind-controlling powers to manipulate people into becoming his slave, so he fits right in within the Intelligencia. As such, he’s quite a problematic character and likely has no place in the MCU anytime soon.

A Nexus Event?

After everyone comes crashing in for a big final battle like any other MCU property, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law disrupts the formula and She-Hulk breaks the fourth wall, crossing into the “real world”. Not only does she meet with the production staff, but she comes face-to-face with the person responsible for everything. Audiences expected Kevin Feige but were instead treated to K.E.V.I.N., an artificial intelligence.

The robot is cleverly decked out in a visor reminiscent of the baseball caps Feige tends to wear. Importantly, KEVIN stands for Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus. Of course, that means he knows how all the movies, TV shows, and specials connect and the grand narrative of the MCU, but Nexus is an important word within the franchise. Scarlet Witch is a Nexus being and Man-Thing is the Guardian of the Nexus of All Realities, both connecting the Multiverse like KEVIN.

Mutants Are Here!

They didn’t use the word, but She-Hulk: Attorney at Law introduced some more mutants to the MCU, as She-Hulk: Attorney At Law adds Mr. Immortal and Águila to the mix.

Mr. Immortal is aptly named, as his mutant abilities granted him true immortality, and he leads the Great Lakes Avengers. Should there be a second season, they would be fantastic and weird additions. Águila already showed off his power, being able to electrify his blade, but in the comics, he’s an adversary to Iron Fist predominately. While neither are extremely prolific characters, it’s nice to see the lesser-known and underappreciated characters get some attention.
