Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, and Peggy Carter unite in an epic multiverse fan poster, representing the MCU’s three versions of Captain America.

The MCU’s three versions of Captain America unite in an epic multiverse fan poster. When it comes to the Captain America mantle, Steve Rogers held the title for the longest time as Chris Evans portrayed the Marvel icon through Phase 3. While Steve was one of the founding Avengers, his time with the team concluded after the events of Avengers: Endgame, as he went back in time and decided to live his prime years with Peggy Carter. Since Steve retired, the shield was passed on to Sam Wilson, which set up his arc in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

At the end of that show, Sam embraced the title as he became the MCU’s new Captain America. While Sam’s Disney+ series may not be back for another season, Anthony Mackie’s character will continue his adventures in Captain America: New World Order, marking a new era for the MCU. However, The Multiverse Saga, which will last until Phase 6, has also brought in Captain America variants through What If…? and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, showing alternative realities where Peggy got the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve and became Captain Carter.

While MCU audiences have gotten a taste of the different Captain Americas separately, Art of Time Travel created a fan poster of the heroes teaming up together in a multiverse adventure. The artist shared the poster on Instagram with the pitch that Avengers: Secret Wars, which is coming up in a few years, could potentially see Hayley Atwell, Evans, and Mackie join forces, even for just one scene.

How The MCU Could Stage A Triple Cap Team-Up

While Kevin Feige hasn’t indicated that all the Captains are coming together, it’s not impossible, simply because of how deep the MCU is getting into the multiverse. It’s fair to say that viewers have seen the last of Earth-616’s Steve, who has or will likely pass away from old age within the next few years. However, since Phase 4 has already explored multiple Captain Carters, it opens the door for a Steve variant to pop up where he’s still in his prime. Since Captain America: New World Order will be Sam’s first film as the new hero, it would be better if he got to join forces with Steve and Peggy variants in Avengers: Secret Wars, bringing The Multiverse Saga to an end with a bang.

Needless to say, Avengers: Secret Wars – and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, for that matter – will have endless potential when it comes to variants the MCU can pull from alternative universes. If Feige wants to, he could bring back Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men, especially after the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Time will tell how big Marvel Studios will go with the multiverse, and hopefully, a moment with the Captain America trio will at least be considered.
