One Direction’s Niall Horan is joining The Voice season 23, and he will be great for the show. The NBC show announced that Niall will be a new coach along with Chance the Rapper. Kelly Clarkson will also return for season 23 as Blake Shelton prepares to leave the show after the season ends. Blake has been on the series since it premiered in 2011, and fans can’t imagine watching The Voice without him. There’s no news of who his replacement is yet, but the show will never be the same. Luckily, fans are excited to see Niall as a coach on The Voice.
Niall is a great addition to the singing competition and can really improve the show’s rating. Coaches like Kelly Clarkson, Camila Cabello, and Jennifer Hudson all have experience from being on singing competition shows. That experience has helped them connect to their team members on a deeper level. Niall can relate to the other coaches because he was on The X Factor in 2010, where he was put into the group One Direction with his bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik. The band made it all the way to the end and finished in third place, but that didn’t stop them from achieving massive success in the music industry. Niall has also gone on to have a solo career which will help him coach contestants on The Voice.
Niall Horan’s One Direction Fanbase Will Watch The Voice
Niall won’t only be beneficial to The Voice because of his experience on competition shows. He also has a large fanbase from his time in One Direction. The boyband found international success and was arguably The Beatles of the new generation. They played at stadiums worldwide and have had four of their albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200 charts. While One Direction is no longer together, their fans continue to support each bandmate’s solo career. When Niall sits down in his red chair for The Voice season 23, fans will be pouring in to support Niall in his debut season. Similar to when Ariana Grande was a coach on the show, Niall will bring a lot of attention to The Voice.
Niall is going to do a great job on the series. If any One Direction fans compete next season, they’re sure to join Niall’s team to get coaching advice from their idol. It will also be fun to see how he interacts with Kelly and Blake, who have both spent a lot of time coaching on the show. Hopefully, they won’t be too hard on him and will offer some advice on how to be the best coach he can be. Since it’s Blake’s last season, he might be extra competitive, so Niall’s going to really have to step it up if he wants a chance at winning the season.
While Niall is an exciting addition, and fans can’t wait to see him, other The Voice fans might be more focused on Blake since he won’t be returning for season 24. Many fans have expressed how sad they are to see Blake go and how no one will be able to replace his sense of humor. Hopefully, Niall can still stand out as a coach, even with Blake celebrating his final season on The Voice. After all, Blake may have been on the show the longest, but he wasn’t in one of the most successful boybands of all time, and One Direction fans may humble him when The Voice season 23 premieres.
The Voice airs Mondays at 8 pm on NBC.
