A fan-made Deadpool 3 trailer imagining Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in an MCU team-up helps tide viewers over for the upcoming Marvel film.

A fan-made trailer for Deadpool 3 imagines the upcoming partnership between Deadpool and Wolverine. The eagerly-anticipated Deadpool sequel has been announced for a November 2024 release. Ryan Reynolds is set to return as his wise-cracking character Wade Wilson, while Shawn Levy, who has previously worked with Reynolds on The Adam Project and Free Guy, is set to direct.

While the first two Deadpool films were produced by Fox, who owned the rights to the comic book character at the time, the next sequel will be made under Disney since the company acquired the rights to a growing number of Marvel characters over the past few years. Due to this significant change, it’s been confirmed that Deadpool 3 will be a part of the MCU. In regards to the story, Reynolds once claimed the original idea was a road trip comedy starring Deadpool and Wolverine. Though initially taken lightly as a possible joke on Reynolds’ part, it has since been confirmed that Hugh Jackman will indeed reprise his portrayal of Wolverine in Deadpool 3.

Now, a fan-made Deadpool 3 trailer has been released on YouTube on the channel Screen Culture. The video follows the familiar trailer structure and borrows images from excerpts of various Deadpool and Wolverine films, often artificially placing the two characters into the same scene. The comment section erupted in disappointment at the misleading video, with some admitting to being fooled by the fake trailer and most wishing it was real.

What To Expect From A Deadpool & Wolverine Team-Up In The MCU

Deadpool 3 has been long anticipated following the success of the first two films. It’s no surprise that Deadpool’s introduction to the MCU and Wolverine’s involvement has imaginations running wild. Wolverine’s last movie, 2016’s Logan, was far darker in tone than the highly comedic Deadpool, so the anticipated combination promises to be interesting to say the least. It seems all but guaranteed that the characters’ differing personalities will clash; Deadpool will no doubt get on Wolverine’s nerves very quickly, making for a contentious partnership. Exactly what will bring them together for Deadpool 3 isn’t yet clear, but if Wolverine is going to stick by Wade’s side, it’s bound to be very dramatic. Still, audiences can also expect plenty of humor courtesy of Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth. Since it’s also been promised that Deadpool 3 will be the first MCU film an R-rating despite being at Disney, the narrative possibilities seem limitless.

With a release date still so far away, it may still be awhile before audiences can expect an official trailer. That means the plot is likely still in flux, and while they wait for concrete details, those looking forward to Deadpool 3 can continue speculating about what the film will be about. Based on the cast that has been announced so far, the sequel already boasts a lot of exciting elements. Wade and Wolverine should make an intriguing duo for Deadpool 3.
