Despite not being at the top of the leaderboard each week, Joseph Baena still has a good chance of making it far on this season of Dancing With The Stars. Joseph, who is the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, is paired with pro dancer Daniella Karagach. Daniella won her first Mirror Ball Trophy last season.
The duo faced a major bump in the road this season when Daniella tested positive for COVID-19 the morning of Elvis Night. This resulted in Daniella having to quarantine for nearly two weeks and ultimately missing two live shows. Luckily, Alexis Warr stepped in to temporarily replace Daniella and dance with Joseph. Despite surviving two eliminations without his partner, Joseph was faced with the struggle of having to relearn to dance with a brand-new partner.
Joseph Baena Faced The Biggest Challenge On Dancing With the Stars
Not being a professional dancer and being forced to learn how to dance with someone brand new is a tough challenge, especially when it is just hours before a performance. Despite this, Joseph managed to adapt to the circumstances and still give an impressive performance with Alexis. In addition to this, Joseph also adapted to Alexis’ teaching styles for the following week leading up to James Bond Night.
As the season progresses, Joseph has shown improvements each and every week. He listens to the critiques that the judges give him and does his best to implement changes in the following week. Although he has yet to run the leaderboard, Joseph’s scores have been slowly improving. Just because Gabby Windey, Charli D’Amelio, and Wayne Brady have been running the leaderboard does not mean Joseph does not have a fighting chance. In fact, Daniella and Iman Shuppert won last season despite Iman being considered an underdog compared to some of his competition.
Joseph, like Iman last season, portrays what the show is truly all about. He came into the season with absolutely no dance history but has continued to improve and impress week after week. Lucky for Joseph, his partner Daniella has a history of making it far on the show. She placed third in her first season and won her second. Between her expertise and Joseph’s determination, there’s no doubt that the two will make it far on this season of Dancing With The Stars.
