Dancing With The Stars contestant Gabby Windey admits she has mental blocks and self-doubts when competing on the show and wants to “quit every day.”
Dancing With the Stars contestant and former Bachelorette Gabby Windey admitted how she experiences mental blocks on the show. However, her fiancé Erich Schwer continuously supports Gabby on her dancing journey even when it gets hard. Erich and Gabby have been together since they both were on The Bachelorette season 19 and the two got engaged at the end of the show. Currently, Gabby is competing on DWTS season 31 with pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy.
The DWTS contestant opened up to E! News about how difficult competing on the show can be and how Gabby’s fiancé is a good support system for her during her lowest moments. Gabby discussed how she wants to “quit every day” when being on the show because of the self-doubt she experiences. However, she has gone on to say Erich has been by Gabby’s side through the good and bad and gives her the reassurance needed to continue. Gabby states how Erich will cheer her on from the crowd and remind her of how proud he is of her regardless of what the scores may be.
How Gabby Manages Self-Doubt
Even though Gabby’s dancing journey hasn’t been all smooth sailing, experiencing this level of self-doubt has in some aspects been “rewarding” to her. According to E!, Gabby explained how overcoming bumps in the road make it feel more rewarding in the end. Gabby also made sure to mention how embracing the feeling of self-doubt is “natural.” On top of accepting the emotions for what they are, DWTS contestant furthered her admiration to Erich by stating the amount of encouragement she receives from Erich is “grounding.”
While Gabby may experience self-doubt, the scores her and Val provide have shown the dedication both dancers have. Standing currently in third place, the dancers have accumulated quite the fandom. Within the upcoming weeks of DWTS season 31, Gabby may be able to release herself from mental blocks due to her support from Erich. Both dancers are in a good position, and Gabby and Val have a decent chance to win the mirrorball trophy.
Dancing With The Stars season 31 is still in the early stages, and Gabby has plenty of opportunities to keep proving why she is deserving of being cast on the show. Gabby shared during her time on The Bachelorette that she harbors a lot of self-doubt, but fans of both shows have shown her plenty of support. Hopefully, this experience will help her gain more confidence.
