Dancing With The Stars season 31 will pay tribute to James Bond, honoring the 60th anniversary of the movies with “Bond Night,” and all of the dance styles and songs have been revealed. So far, the show has had two successful weeks on Disney+, celebrating a party theme and Elvis Night. The judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli have been impressed with the stars’ levels of dedication and talent.
Hosted by Tyra Banks and Alfonso Ribeiro, DWTS season 31 has already said goodbye to two couples. Sex and the City actor Jason Lewis and Peta Murgatroyd went home on premiere night, while The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and Pasha Pashkov said goodbye on Elvis Night. Fourteen couples are left to compete on Bond Night, with each couple dancing one dance to a song from a James Bond movie.
As DWTS celebrates Bond Night, the couples will work hard to either improve their standing on the leaderboard or maintain it. In week 2, Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas, Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Wayne Brady and Witney Carson all tied for first place. The bottom couple was Cheryl Ladd and Louis van Amstel, who were saved from the bottom 2 by the judges when they sent Teresa and Pasha home. Bond Night certainly will be an exciting episode, with dance styles and songs reflective of the spirit of the films. Here is what to expect, according to Us Weekly.
Gabby Windey & Val Chmerkovskiy
The Bachelorette star Gabby and Val will follow up their Elvis Night performance, after which they tied for first place, with a cha cha. Their song is “Die Another Day” by Madonna. They have consistently been at the top of the leaderboard with strong positive feedback from the judges.
Daniel Durant & Britt Stewart
Stage and screen actor Daniel and Britt will dance the rumba on Bond Night. Their song is “The World Is Not Enough” by Garbage. They placed 5th on Elvis Night and have been steadily moving up the leaderboard. Daniel, who is deaf, has been impressing audiences as he adapts to the DWTS environment.
Joseph Baena and Alexis Warr (for Daniella Karagach)
Due to Daniella’s COVID-19 diagnosis, fitness model and actor Joseph will once again dance with DWTS troupe member Alexis. The duo placed 13th on Elvis Night. Joseph had to dance in a mask due to being a close contact of Daniella. Perhaps they will fare better this week since they rehearsed their dance from beginning to end with each other. They will dance the Argentine tango to “Writing’s On the Wall” by Sam Smith.
Charli D’Amelio & Mark Ballas
TikTok star Charli and Mark placed first on the DWTS leaderboard in week 1 and tied for first in week 2. They are the clear frontrunners in the competition. They will dance a rumba to “No Time To Die” by Billie Eilish.
Trevor Donovan & Emma Slater
After their impressive jump from 10th place to 4th with their DWTS Elvis Night performance, television and film actor Trevor and Emma seem to have hit their stride with both their dances and chemistry. They will dance the tango. Their song is “You Know My Name” by Chris Cornell.
Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev
The D’Amelio Show star Heidi is appearing on DWTS with her daughter, Charli, making them the first mother and daughter to ever compete on the show. Heidi and Artem will dance an Argentine tango. Their song is “Another Way to Die” by Jack White and Alicia Keys.
Shangela & Gleb Savchenko
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Shangela is breaking ground as the first drag performer to dance on DWTS. For Bond Night, Shangela and Gleb will dance the rumba. Their song is “Goldeneye” by Tina Turner.
Wayne Brady & Witney Carson
After tying for first place on Elvis Night and placing second during week 2, multi-talented stage and screen star Wayne and Witney definitely will want to keep their impressive momentum going. They will dance a tango. Their song is “The Name’s Bond … James Bond” by David Arnold and Nicholas Dodd.
Jessie James Decker & Alan Bersten
Country music star Jessie and Alan have placed 12th for two weeks in a row, so they are most likely looking to move up on the leaderboard. They will dance to “Goldfinger” by Shirley Bassey. Their dance style is the rumba.
Cheryl Ladd & Louis van Amstel
After placing last on Elvis Night, and being saved from elimination, iconic television star Cheryl and Louis most certainly will be trying to redeem themselves on Bond Night. They will dance to “Diamonds Are Forever” by Shirley Bassey. Their dance style is the rumba.
Vinny Guadagnino & Koko Iwasaki
Jersey Shore star Vinny redeemed himself on Elvis Night after placing last with Koko during week 1. They moved from 16th to 9th place. They will try to maintain this improvement with their rumba. They will dance to “Thunderball” by Tom Jones.
Jordin Sparks & Brandon Armstrong
Platinum recording artist Jordin and Brandon have placed toward the middle of the leaderboard for the past two weeks. They will dance to “Licence To Kill” by Gladys Knight. Their dance style is the rumba.
Sam Champion & Cheryl Burke
Good Morning America contributor and weather anchor Sam and Cheryl will dance the samba on Bond Night. Their song is “Los Muertos Vivos Estan” by Thomas Newman ft. Tambuco. Their dance is the only samba of the night.
Selma Blair & Sasha Farber
Film star Selma has been inspiring those with disabilities to push their boundaries as she dances with multiple sclerosis. She and Sasha will dance a rumba. Their song is “For Your Eyes Only” by Sheena Easton.
DWTS Bond Night is sure to impress, as the stars are shining brighter with every passing week. As they become more comfortable with their partners, their dances are even more entertaining to watch. This episode is sure to be full of mystery and intrigue. On Bond Night, the Dancing With The Stars ballroom is sure to be shaken and stirred.
