Cyberpunk 2077’s Second Conflict: Should You Side With Denny Or Henry?

[ad_1]

As a story-driven RPG, Cyberpunk 2077 has no shortage of quests in which the player character must make choices that impact its main story, and the side job Second Conflict is one such example. In it, V has to decide whether to side with Denny or Henry, a decision that determines who plays in the band’s reunion show. Although the quest’s repercussions regarding the overall progression of Cyberpunk 2077 aren’t very big, it can still feel like a difficult choice to make. Denny and Henry both have unique character traits and reasons for why they feel more deserving to be involved with the band moving forward.

During its development, CD Projekt Red placed heavy emphasis on the player freedom offered throughout the game, stating that Cyberpunk 2077 would have multiple endings, vast amounts of character customization, romance options, and plenty of flexibility in terms of gameplay styles. Unfortunately, upon launch, it failed to meet player expectations in many regards. Months of crunch even despite the game’s multiple delays resulted in massive bugs and glitches, and many felt that the promises presented during marketing weren’t quite delivered. However, Cyberpunk 2077 was still praised for its character writing. Now, almost two years post-release, Cyberpunk 2077 is seeing a surge in players and is far more widely well-received.

Not only do new players have a chance to experience the game for the first time, but returning fans can also take the opportunity to relive some of Cyberpunk 2077‘s best main missions and side quests. Second Conflict, though relatively unimportant in the grand scheme of things, is part of Johnny Silverhand’s questline and features characters that are closely tied to his past. For that reason, it may be worth researching before making a decision. Whichever character players select will appear later on, as well.

Cyberpunk 2077: Is It Better To Pick Denny Or Henry In Second Conflict?

When V encounters Denny and Henry, Denny will make one demand very clear. She won’t play in the Samurai reunion concert if Henry is there. Henry has filled her pool with cement, evidently carrying some sort of grudge toward Denny, who is likewise upset at the mere sight of Henry. Complex relationships such as this are a large part of why many players feel that Cyberpunk 2077‘s characters are better than its world. While Henry has no qualms playing in the band with her, Denny feels that he’s likely to just ruin the gig. Getting any concrete details out of either of them is difficult beyond that, however.

Ultimately, the choice boils down to which character players like more. Outside of the Samurai concert, neither one plays a role in the story. The concert will go over nearly exactly the same either way, regardless of whether V sympathizes with Henry or Denny. The quest reward – a gold-plated baseball bat – can be collected either way and there are no other pros or cons. Unfortunately, it’s one of the choices that doesn’t affect much in Cyberpunk 2077 at all. It’s just a small decision to add variety to the game.
