A talented cosplayer has become Lucy from Cyberpunk 2077’s Netflix anime series Edgerunners, showing incredible craftsmanship and impressing fans.

A cosplay of Lucyna Kushinada from the Cyberpunk 2077inspired Netflix anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has delighted fans and has them wishing the iconic character was actually featured in the game. Despite Cyberpunk 2077‘s rocky release, CD Projekt Red’s action RPG has fortunately begun to gain traction two years post-launch, especially with the release of Edgerunners. Recent patches such as the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.7 have improved upon the quality of Night City as 2077‘s popularity skyrockets.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Patch 1.7 is rumored to be the largest Cyberpunk 2077 patch so far, although the latest update 1.6 added a plethora of Edgerunners-themed content including Easter eggs, equipment, and Photo Mode features. However, some feel that the Edgerunners content was slightly underwhelming, as a majority of CD Projekt’s efforts went instead towards simply fixing the base game. The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime has garnered massive success and attention due to its highly stylistic and intense nature and the eye-catching cast of characters featured alongside protagonist David Martinez. One of the most popular characters is Lucyna Kushinada, a skilled Netrunner in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners who eventually becomes Martinez’s lover.

Although Lucy is not featured in Cyberpunk 2077, her appearance in Edgerunners‘ version of Night City has fans wishing she was. Recently, talented cosplayer YugoroForge has brought the captivating Cyberpunk character to life. YugoroForge’s Lucyna cosplay is highly accurate, from the pastel rainbow asymmetric bob to the futuristic and edgy bodysuit and makeup. The craftsmanship is particularly impressive, with Cyberpunk fans in the replies asking exactly how YugoroForge was able to pull the outfit off so seamlessly.

Cyberpunk 2077 Wish Edgerunners Lucy Was In-Game

Cyberpunk cosplays generally receive a lot of praise, with YugoroForge’s Lucy being no exception. Fan-made content has frequently overshadowed Cyberpunk 2077, especially due to its frequent controversies. In the past, Cyberpunk 2077 cosplayers have called out CDPR directly, and fans have consistently shared their grievances on social media. Edgerunners seems to be the long-awaited and necessary catalyst for improvement, and it’ll be interesting to see the heights Cyberpunk 2077 may finally reach.

It’s unfortunate that neither Lucy nor any other iconic Edgerunners characters like David or Rebecca appear in Cyberpunk 2077, although character customization and mods have allowed players to channel these characters in certain ways. Despite Cyberpunk 2077‘s shortcomings, CD Projekt Red has announced a new Cyberpunk project, perhaps due to Edgerunners massive success. 2077‘s demise initially began with its premature announcement and continued with the poor quality of the title on new-generation consoles, but it is possible that a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel from CDPR will allow the developer to move past Cyberpunk 2077‘s shortcomings and live up to previous expectations.
