Kick-Ass star Chloë Grace Moretz confirms that she has met with Marvel Studios about potentially starring as a character in a mystery MCU project.

Chloë Grace Moretz has met with Marvel Studios about potentially doing an MCU project. For almost two decades, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become known as the most popular interconnected superhero franchise, featuring an endless amount of heroes and villains from the popular comic book brand. Even though the comic book genre existed in Hollywood previously, it wasn’t until 2008’s Iron Man that the superhero brand was taken to a whole new level. The MCU movies and TV shows have allowed the franchise to essentially grow every month, whether that’s in theaters or on Disney+.

For every Phase that has come and gone, Marvel Studios has cast several actors who have been able to bring various characters to life. With the MCU being one of the hottest franchises, actors are constantly asked in interviews if they would ever want to suit up as a superhero or supervillain. There are even instances where certain talent will pitch directly to Kevin Feige about wanting to star as a specific character, and that’s how they end up joining the MCU, whether it’s an obscure or famous Marvel character. Mahershala Ali’s Blade movie is a primary example of where he went to Feige and proposed the idea of rebooting the half-vampire hero.

While the MCU is constantly expanding, it appears Marvel Studios has met with a new candidate to join the Avengers-centric franchise. In a new interview with ComicBook, Moretz revealed that she had a meeting with Marvel Studios, although she wouldn’t disclose if it was for an MCU TV show or movie. Moretz went on to talk about how she would love to play a villain, whether she joined the Marvel or DC Universe, sharing the following:

“Yeah, we’ve talked a little bit about it. I mean, I think for me, I would be really interested in playing a villain in Marvel or DC, and jumping into more of the darker side of the role. I love a superhero. I think that’d be really fun, too, but I think it’s just all about finding the one that really matches what you’re wanting to get across, and the scope of the character. I think it’d be really fun if it was the right role and the right project.”

Who Moretz Could Play In The MCU

While Moretz didn’t specify if she is locked in for a deal or not, she wouldn’t be allowed to due to NDAs, hence why her response was cryptic. If Moretz ends up joining the MCU, one role that she may be up for is Sue Storm, a.k.a. the Invisible Woman, as Marvel Studios is set to reboot the Fantastic Four property with Matt Shakman as the director. Despite Feige having confirmed previously that the Fantastic Four movie won’t be an origin story, he never specified if the MCU will follow a young or older version of the group. If it’s the former, Moretz, who would be 27 by the time the reboot hit theaters, could be a great fit for the MCU’s take on Sue.

Needless to say, Fantastic Four is one of several MCU films and shows that are in the works for Phases 5 and 6, meaning Moretz could easily have met with Marvel Studios for a part in a different project. It could always be Captain America: New World Order, which starts filming in early 2023, or one of the new Disney+ shows, which includes Daredevil: Born Again and Agatha. Coven of Chaos. Hopefully, if Moretz truly has signed on to star in an MCU project, it won’t be long until Marvel Studios makes that announcement.
