TLC wisely brought Anfisa and Jorge back for multiple seasons of the spin-off 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, but after season 3, Anfisa has been absent from the franchise.
Though Anfisa left the franchise, she’s still very active on social media, and recently the former TLC star has been spilling tea about her time on the show. According to Anfisa, TLC severely underpays cast members of the franchise—especially considering what a cash cow 90 Day Fiancé has been for the network. Anfisa has indicated that she would only return to the franchise if TLC pays her what she’s worth, and it’s something the network should seriously consider. Anfisa would be perfect for the spin-off The Single Life, and the former cast member would be a worthy investment for TLC.
90 Day Fiancé Fans Are Still Fascinated By Anfisa
Anfisa was an incredibly compelling cast member on the show, and fans were mesmerized by her extreme attitude and wild behavior. But at the same time, viewers were impressed by how upfront and realistic Anfisa was. Though she is materialistic, she pointed out Jorge’s hypocrisy and earned respect from fans. Anfisa is also much smarter than most people give her credit for, and she definitely knows what she wants. Watching her date on The Single Life would be captivating, and her no-nonsense approach is just what the show needs.
90 Day: The Single Life Needs A Better Cast
The success of any reality TV show depends largely on the cast, and TLC has struggled with building a great cast for The Single Life. Among the current cast, the franchise has been over-saturated with Natalie Mordovtseva, and Debbie Johnson and Tiffany Franco probably won’t return for season 4, as they are rumored to be in relationships. Cast members Caesar Mack and Veronica Rodriguez are a refreshing addition because they haven’t been featured in the franchise as much recently, and Anfisa would add the same kind of new blood. TLC needs cast members who make for good TV, and Anfisa fits the bill.
Controversy Has Never Stopped The 90 Day Fiancé Franchise Before
However, not all fans would be on board with seeing Anfisa on their screens again. She garnered significant controversy after being physically violent with Jorge on Happily Ever After?, and many viewers rightfully called out her abusive behavior. But many fans are still fascinated by her. Plus, TLC has not shied away from controversial cast members, as stars like Angela Deem and Big Ed Brown continue to be cast despite the fact that their abusive behavior against their partners is arguably worse than what Anfisa did to Jorge.
Because The Single Life features individual stars and not couples, the show needs cast members with big personalities—which is exactly what Anfisa would bring to the table. Though she’s reportedly dating someone, that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be a good fit for the spin-off. After all, Molly Hopkins, who was featured on 90 Day: The Single Life season 1, was essentially already dating her current boyfriend Kelly. But given the bitterness Anfisa seems to have against TLC, the network would really have to pay up to tempt Anfisa to return to the franchise. Still, despite the sizable check that TLC would have to cut, it would be money well spent.
