Fifty-year-old Kim slid into 32-year-old Usman “Sojaboy” Umar’s Twitter DMs and began talking to him every day after he had divorced his ex-wife Lisa Hamme. Usman, who was at the time in a relationship with a younger woman Zara, only valued Kim as a friend, but things started changing after his split. Kim relentlessly tried to become Usman’s girlfriend in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 until he gave in and had sex with her. In the ongoing 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 7, Kim is in Nigeria to meet Usman’s mom before getting engaged.
During Happily Ever After episode 8, Kim confessed that, apart from “fighting the desert storm,” meeting Usman’s mother was going to be the “most nerve-wracking experience” of her life. It looks like after the episode, Kim was questioned about her life and time as a member of the military. Kim took to her Instagram Stories to write, “Soooo I’ve had A LOT of comments and DMs questioning about my military service.” Kim added that people can say whatever they want about her being on 90 Day Fiancé or about the past, but her military service is very special to her. “For those that are so concerned, I was in the Army from 1989 to 1996,” Kim continued. She also mentioned she was in “Desert Storm” in Saudi Arabia from August 1990 until July 1991. Kim is proud that she is a United States Army veteran.

To prove her point, Kim shared an older post from her feed to her Instagram Stories. On Veterans Day, Kim posted a throwback picture of herself in uniform on Instagram and thanked everyone who has served. Kim was a secretary in the U.S. Army when she was just 19 years old. She spoke about her Saudi adventures on 90 Day Fiancé when she was in Zanzibar to woo 90 Day Fiancé star Usman into dating her. “I was in the military. I could kill you with my bare hands.” At the time, the only other time Kim traveled overseas was when she went to Saudi Arabia.
A highly trained military personnel, Kim was stationed at Fort Bragg. Kim then started working as a restaurant manager at Mimi’s Cade in San Diego since 2012 and continues working there while being a 90 Day Fiancé cast member. Recently, fans found out some disturbing news about Kim’s past. She was married multiple times in the past. A man named Kevin Golphin, who is not her son Jamal Menzies’ father, got married to 90 Day Fiancé celeb Kim when he was supposedly 19 years old. The man was arrested in 1997 for murdering two police officers and was in prison when Kim married him. The marriage ended two years later.
Kim’s former husband is still in prison and is still friends with her. A few weeks ago, Kim again made headlines for a report about her 2003 arrest when she was in her early 30’s. Kim forged a check and pleaded guilty to the criminal charge She got a two-year suspended sentence and was required to pay back the $887 she forged. Kim may not have addressed her previous marriage or criminal past on social media, but it seems the 90 Day Fiancé star is aware of fans’ comments. It’s not like reality TV star Kim’s behavior on 90 Day Fiancé is earning her any redemption, as fans suspect she’s in a fake relationship with Usman for money and fame.
