90 Day Fiancé Fans Suspect Producers Are Behind Andrei’s Deportation Scare

On Happily Ever After, somebody supposedly tipped immigration off about Andrei, but 90 Day Fiancé fans think producers are behind the storyline.

On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Andrei Castravet is concerned about being deported after getting called in for an interview with immigration officials, but 90 Day Fiancé viewers suspect the situation is just more TLC fraud. Andrei’s Green Card renewal is the Moldovan man’s top priority, so he was stunned when his lawyer revealed how unusual it was that he was asked to interview again. It seems that the show is suggesting that Andrei’s wife Elizabeth Potthast’s siblings could be behind Andrei’s heightened immigration scrutiny, as tensions between him and his sisters- and brother-in-law have only gotten worse this season.

90 Day Fiancé fan and Redditor Sweetgirl82 started a thread speculating about who called immigration and complained about Andrei. Though there were several commenters who theorized it was Libby’s brother Charlie Potthast, or one of Libby’s sisters, most were quick to accuse TLC of trickery. “No one called,” a fan said. “The producers threw this in to make them ‘interesting.’” Others were quick to agree, even suggesting that Andrei’s lawyer was in on it. “Such a scripted scene. Bad acting,” another 90 Day Fiancé fan complained, adding that the scene was “Advertising for the attorney’s office too. So, she probably agreed to do the scene with him for clout/new clients.”

This Isn’t The First Time 90 Day Fiancé Played Up An Immigration Scare

Several commenters in the thread pointed out that exaggerated concern for a Green Card interview is nothing new for the franchise. It’s not at all uncommon for an immigration scare to emerge as a plot point for a couple episodes, followed by a brief off-camera interview, and then the news that everything was approved without any issue. “[Andrei] is going to get his Green Card after a 10 minute interview, that TLC will make it look like took 3 hours,” one commenter claimed. Others pointed out how odd it was that Happily Ever After? season 7 couple Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya had a similar storyline just a few episodes ago that was easily resolved as well.

The ‘deportation’ storyline, especially on Happily Ever After?, is extremely played out at this point. Fans of the show often follow cast members on social media, and in the case of Libby and Andrei, it’s very obvious that the two are still living in Florida together. It’s an odd storyline to push for these two, as even most casual viewers are aware that Andrei’s interview obviously goes just fine, or else he wouldn’t still be in the States today. Many 90 Day Fiancé fans say TLC has only gotten worse with promoting scripted scenes and plotlines, and are calling Andrei’s immigration ‘scare’ the network’s most recent offense.

If Andrei’s immigration interview is truly being blown out of proportion by the show, it wouldn’t even be the first time this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? that TLC is accused of fraud. In an earlier episode, season 7 cast members Shaeeda Sween and Bilal Hazziez meet with a doctor for a fertility consultation, but in reality, the doctor they saw isn’t even a fertility specialist, and his practice doesn’t offer those services. Though TLC obviously wants the 90 Day Fiancé franchise shows to be as dramatic as possible, the network’s attempts to stage scenes and storylines have backfired. Now, fans are only too eager to be suspicious of what they see happening on screen.
