Angela Deem from 90 Day Fiancé was recently spotted in an old episode of Maury, which has left fans both appalled and surprised. Hazlehurst, Georgia resident Angela rose to prominence as a TLC celebrity after her debut on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 2 in 2018. At 56 years old, Angela had a large age gap with Michael, 34, a man from Nigeria she met online and wanted to marry. Since then, fans have watched Michael go through visa issues and several kinds of abuse from Angela, who’s constantly up for a fight. In their ongoing 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 7, Angela surprised Michael in Lagos and wrecked his car while wanting to find out if he’s scamming her before he gets his spousal visa.
If fans think Angela’s obnoxious personality and foul language is reserved just for Michael, they were proved wrong when they dug deeper into the Georgia woman’s past. Reddit user u/GoHawksMatt created a trending post after they stumbled upon Angela’s first episode on Maury, where she tries to prove that her eldest daughter Scottie’s baby daddy is her ex-boyfriend called Chris and not the man that Scottie was dating then, called Terry. While the episode proved that Ana Sky’s father was indeed Terry, Angela dragged Scottie to Maury a year later to again accuse her of giving birth to her third daughter Ariah with Chris and not Terry. But even before Maury, Angela was on Trisha, also with Scottie, where the show tried to find out if the father of Scottie’s first baby was Chris, via a DNA test.
Is 90 Day Fiancé Star Angela Hungry For Reality TV Fame?
The videos of Angela’s two Maury appearances and one on Trisha are all available on YouTube. The common theme in all the episodes and aggressive way in which Angela doubts her daughter’s character is the same across both shows, suggesting the drama may have been scripted. “Oh. My. God. Shes been chasing fame for years…proof she’s scamming Michael and not the other way around,” TLC viewer SpencerVerde wrote about the 90 Day Fiancé star in the Reddit thread. Fans agreed that Angela has in fact, been chasing reality TV fame “for years.” Another fan Razzler1973 added, “This is the pool that TLC are fishing from, people desperately trying to ‘be famous from reality TV.”
Fans remembered that other 90 Day Fiancé cast members such as Darcey Silva and Stacey Silva have also starred in reality TV shows in the past. They wondered if this is what first led viewers to doubt the validity of the storylines on 90 Day Fiancé. Moreover, fans also seemed to discuss Angela’s first daughter Scottie, who isn’t a part of the show anymore like her younger daughter Skyla and her grandkids. What the TLC show failed to reveal was that Scottie was sentenced to 20 years after she pleaded guilty to three counts of child molestation in 2019 after being arrested in September 2018. However, Scottie served only 15 months of her sentence and was released on parole in May 2020.
Scottie’s three children who were the main feature of Trisha and Maury, along with Skyla’s three kids are a part of Angela and Michael’s plot on Happily Ever After? While Scottie can’t join her mom on screen, Angela losing her temper at any chance she can get to berate Michael remains constant. But fans also suspect both Michael and Angela are in fact scamming them at once on 90 Day Fiancé. Angela seems to get more popular each time she stars on a new spin-off and is making money with her TLC paychecks and influencer deals, while Michael is getting a Green Card out of the deal.
