90 Day Fiancé fans are questioning the real motives of cast member Usman “Sojaboy” Umar regarding his complicated relationship with Kim Menzies. Usman and Kim first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 5, where Usman regarded Kim as a potential girlfriend. Usman had previously appeared on Before The 90 Days season 4 with his ex-wife Lisa Hamme, whom he later divorced. Usman and Kim are currently starring on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After season 7, where Kim and Usman are now officially in a relationship, although Kim is already preparing to propose to Usman.
90 Day Fiancé fans on Reddit are questioning Usman’s true motives behind his relationship with Kim, as many do not understand what Usman sees in her. Reddit user bluujacket started a thread writing, “It’s pretty clear that Usman’s goal is to get a green card and he only really cares about advancing his career, but why does he always go after the older women?” They continued to explain that since Usman has made it so clear that he wishes to have children, it would make more sense for him to go after younger women. As Usman’s music career constantly brings him around young women, it did not add up as to why he never pursued any of them or even younger American women.
90 Day Fiancé Fans Think Usman Can Manipulate Older Women Easier
Some fans pointed out that it may be much easier for Usman to manipulate older women such as Kim and Lisa, as opposed to women closer to his age. Both Lisa and Kim made it clear that they were desperate for love, and Usman’s charm and charisma was enough to make both women fall madly in love. Kim and Lisa had both been married previously and they were willing to do anything for a second chance at love with Usman. Others pointed out that Usman also enjoyed the many gifts Kim brings him on her trips, including a PS4 and MacBook Pro laptop. Women closer to Usman’s age would likely not have the financial means to bring him such expensive gifts.
Reddit user BulldogsOnly had another theory on Usman’s interest in older women, commenting, “She (and BGL) can’t get pregnant. That’s my explanation. He has very little to no risk with them tying them down with anything…” While Usman has made it clear that he wishes to have children, he has expressed interest in doing so with a second wife from Nigeria, which is a common occurrence in Nigerian culture. On the other hand, Usman also seems very interested in moving to the United States to work on his music career. This could explain why he goes after women such as Kim who he believes could easily get him there.
Usman and Kim are one of the more controversial couples on Happily Ever After season and many 90 Day Fiancé fans do not believe that Usman is really into Kim. As Kim comes off as desperate and needy to Usman, it is easy for him to manipulate her for the purpose of ultimately getting a Green Card to get to the United States. Many fans agree that Usman had similar motives with Lisa, and that Kim is simply a back-up option. While Kim may be head over heels for Usman, it does not appear that his motives in return are genuine.
